Addiction counselling & recovery
“It doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t stop.”

Are you struggling with addiction and seeking a path to recovery?
What began as a way to cope with life’s challanges may now seem like a heavy weight pulling you under. It impacts more than your daily routine. It disrupts your mental health, challenges your relationships, and may even jeopardise your livelihood. Imagine a life where you’re no longer bound by cravings, where each decision feels like your own. Freedom, clarity, and balance can be your reality. The journey is tough, but you’re not alone. At Find Kalm we’ll uncover the steps, resources, and insights to break free and rediscover who you truly are.
What is addiction?
Addiction is a complex condition involving a physical or psychological need to use or engage in something, even when it negatively impacts daily life. Addiction takes many forms, including substances like alcohol, nicotine, and drugs, as well as activities such as gambling, internet use, shopping, and work. Often rooted in genetic, environmental, or social factors, addiction can develop as a way to cope with difficult emotions or life stressors. Symptoms vary but can include persistent use despite harmful effects, risky or dangerous behaviours, mood swings, and disruptions in sleep or eating habits.
Understanding and overcoming addiction is challenging but possible. Treatment often involves counselling, support groups, and specialised programs to manage withdrawal and help individuals regain control of their lives. A range of local health services, non-profit organisations, and government programs can offer guidance, resources, and personalised support to aid in recovery. I am here to work with you to identify the roots of addiction, provide coping tools, and support you in taking the steps toward a healthier, balanced life. Let’s work together on a path to freedom, finding effective ways to build resilience and well-being for lasting change.
SMART Recovery
SMART Recovery is an international program supporting people who want to manage problematic behaviours through self-management and recovery training. Based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), SMART Recovery empowers individuals to build motivation, handle urges, manage emotions, and lead a balanced life. Key tenets include self-management, mutual aid, personal choice, a person-centred approach, and reliance on evidence-based practices.
The SMART Recovery approach extends support for all forms of addiction, providing a flexible, evidence-led recovery option for those seeking a structured and empowering pathway to change.
