Grief & loss
“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered.“
– Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Navigating grief & loss
Grief isn’t just sadness, it’s a complex, often overwhelming mix of emotions – shock, anger, guilt, and deep sorrow. The weight of it can feel endless, as though you may never find your way through. Yet, healing is possible. After facing the raw depths of grief, you can gradually find ways to honour your memories, reclaim peace, and move forward with purpose. With time, support, and self-compassion, life begins to find a new balance, one that respects both love and loss.
Pregnancy & infant loss
Coping with pregnancy or infant loss is incredibly challenging. It touches every part of life and every member of a family. For couples, this sorrow can strain even the strongest relationships, often affecting communication and understanding. One partner may want to talk, while the other might seek silence. Family members – siblings, grandparents, and extended family – often share the pain but feel unsure how to support or express their own grief. Through individual, couples, and family counselling, we can help each person find a way to grieve, communicate, and support each other, allowing the family to heal as a whole while honoring the love they hold for the child they’ve lost.
Disability diagnosis
A new disability diagnosis for a child can be overwhelming for families. As a parent of a child with a severe disability, I understand the unique challenges that come with it. Our family counselling offers compassionate guidance and support, helping you navigate the emotional, logistical, and practical aspects of this journey together.
